Phoénix des Prémontrés

This 8-minute sound and light show opens the festivities at the Abbaye des Prémontrés, projected onto the main façade of the courtyard. Narrated by actor and director Thibault de Montalembert, the work retraces the rich and turbulent history of the abbey and its heritage.

The visual projection offers a contemporary and sensitive interpretation of the monument, culminating in a visual tribute to the phoenix, the abbey’s emblem. The experience is accompanied by an original soundtrack, enhancing the immersive and narrative dimension of the piece.

Through this project, the mapping also takes part in the national commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, reflecting on heritage as something shaped and affected by history and conflict. Presented for the first time on September 6th, the symbolic date of the abbey’s fire, this work embodies our approach to mapping as a dialogue between architecture, memory, sound, and light, transforming historic sites into living, immersive narratives.
