Duettino d'Albâtre

From the quarries of Zaragoza to the microscopic structure of alabaster, through human craftsmanship and its transformation into pixels of light, the work unfolds as a chain of material and perceptual translations. The sound composition by Amadeo Savio and the video creation by Jesus Baptista interact and resonate within the space, engaging the viewer in an immersive dialogue.

Conceived as a narrative video diptych, the piece presents a single scene from two distinct viewpoints — a dual perspective where opposition and convergence coexist. This tension reflects the very essence of human labor on stone: between extraction and transformation, gesture and matter.

Commissioned by Atelier Alain Ellouz for the opening night of their Foundation in Paris, the installation bridges raw material and luminous abstraction, revealing alabaster as both substance and medium of perception.
